The Psychotherapeutic Counsellor - Janey Pike
I offer one-to-one talking therapy, psychotherapy and counselling for teenagers aged 14 and above, tailored to those who are themselves seeking support.
These teenage counselling sessions are designed for young people who want a space to talk through feelings, worries, or life experiences at their own pace. I provide long-term therapeutic support, which can run alongside NHS services such as CAMHS or psychological wellbeing teams, but I am not a crisis service.
Sessions are 45 minutes long and cost £75. While conversation is central to the work, I also offer creative approaches such as drawing, sand, stones, and other expressive tools which may be useful for teenagers who find it easier to show rather than tell.
My Chelmsford practice is grounded in a deep respect for individual experience, including a focus on neurodivergent clients. I recently completed a BA (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, with a research focus on the therapeutic needs of autistic adults, and this insight enriches my work with both teens and families. Whether a young person is exploring their neurodivergent identity, navigating stress or anxiety, wanting to talk about family relationships and dynamics, or simply seeking someone to talk to outside of home or school, counselling and personal therapy offers a consistent, confidential space to be heard, understood, and supported.
All counselling sessions for teenagers and counselling sessions for young people are held face to face in Chelmsford.
